   Orientation/Training - Sponsoring New Employees

Assign a "sponsor" to each new employee. The veteran worker can be responsible for showing the new hire the ropes - Where to park, learning the stations, training on the POS system, introducing him/her to other employees & teaching him/her the company culture.

Sponsors are volunteers who spend about a half-hour a day during the new employee’s first few weeks. Several companies have found that new workers’ improved performance is well worth the investment.
